Service Description

Our Private Shingles Vaccination Service offers safe, professional protection against shingles (herpes zoster) and its complications — including post-herpetic neuralgia. Our trained pharmacist can administer the Shingrix® recombinant adjuvanted vaccine to adults seeking private immunisation without the need for a GP appointment. What is shingles? Shingles is a painful rash caused by reactivation of the chickenpox virus (varicella zoster). It can affect anyone who has had chickenpox and often leads to long-lasting nerve pain. The risk increases with age and weakened immunity. About the vaccine: Shingrix® is a two-dose vaccine proven to provide over 90% protection against shingles and its complications. It is suitable for adults aged 50 and over, and for those aged 18+ at increased risk due to immune suppression or other medical factors. The two doses are given 2 to 6 months apart (or 1–2 months apart in those who are immunocompromised). Our service: Quick consultation – Our pharmacist will review your medical history to confirm eligibility. Vaccination – The vaccine is administered intramuscularly (usually in the upper arm). Advice & aftercare – We provide full information on possible side effects (such as mild fatigue, headache, or soreness at the injection site) and guidance on when to return for your second dose. Record keeping – Your vaccination details will be securely documented, and with your consent, shared with your GP. Why choose our private service? While some patients are eligible for the shingles vaccine through the NHS, others may not yet qualify. Our private service ensures timely access, professional care, and comprehensive protection against shingles — with minimal waiting times. All vaccines are stored, handled, and administered following UKHSA and NICE national immunisation standards, ensuring maximum safety and efficacy. Protect yourself from the pain of shingles — with trusted, professional care from your local pharmacy team.

Private Services

What we do

Our private services have grown considerably over the past few years and they continue to grow to keep in line with what our patients are looking for from us.  Whether it's travel vaccinations, antimalarials, weight management clinics or a Yellow Fever exemption certificate we have you covered.

These services are obviously chargeable, but are a vital addition to our core services both for the viability of our pharmacy as a business and to meet our patients needs.

Who we are and what we do

Need your prescription dispensed?  We can do that for you and carry a large stock so in most cases we can fulfil your prescription right away.

Require a vaccination for a holiday, work or just to protect yourself?  We can do that too.  We offer NHS vaccinations for both flu and COVID on a seasonal basis as well as travel, occupational and general wellbeing vaccinations on a private basis.

We also offer other NHS and private professional services to help you access medication and advice in a timely manner.

On top of all this we also excel when it comes to retail therapy, stocking beautiful gifts from quality manufacturers.
